Services

• BBS offers programs for adults with visual impairments to enable them to work and participate fully in family and community life. Its goal is to help people rediscover their independence and freedom.
• Services include:
• Vocational Rehabilitation Program - Help getting a job. They also recommend assistive technology to help people perform tasks on the job.
• Community-Based Instructional Program - Improving independent living skills. BBS also serves people who are blind and visually impaired over the age of 55 through our Older Blind Program.
• Illinois Center for Rehabilitation and Education-Wood (ICRE-W) - A residential or commuter center in Chicago that offers a 12-week vocational and independent skills training program.
• Business Enterprise Program for the Blind (BEPB) - This program offers management opportunities in the food service industry to individuals who are legally blind.
