Picking A Switch
Pick a switch that will:
- not cause a person undue fatigue or pain. It should not compromise good muscle tone.
- use a body part that will give the person best control over the switch.
- that is consistent with the persons exertion when hitting the switch. (sensitive touch vs. a gross motor pounding)
- that matches the persons targeting ability.
- match the persons range of motion.
- that plays to the persons perceptual skills. (does the person need feedback that the switch was activated?)
- that can be conveniently located within reach. (not too close OR too far).
